basically i’m redoing a room completely. its stripped down, the only thing i cant change of the room is the carpet and its a solid burgandy color. so i need to buy curtains, bedding, accents, furniture and i have to paint the walls.what colors do you suggest for the walls, curtains, and furniture? i want a modern/contemporary look. the room is approximately 10′x13′. all help, suggestions, comments are greatly appreciated. thanks!

Grey and white with a cold red accent ( think raspberry) Grey area rugs and sheers. Black or white furniture.

   In a room that size with a dark burgandy on the floor, you’re pretty much stuck with white or light cream on the walls and ceiling. Not that that’s bad. Any other colors are going to start dulling the room and making it seem smaller. With a white or light cream, you are then pretty free to choose and change colors on everything else to suit you taste.

   maybe a neutral color on the walls and the bedding should be neutral but a lighter or darker color than the walls. the bedding can also have Burgundy stripes or polka dots, whatever pattern you like. then dress up the bed with cushions that have Burgundy in it. paints at home depot, bedding at Macy’s, Anna’s linen or other places, and furniture at american signature, ikea, Macy’s, city furniture, ashley furniture, or rooms to go.
