I don’t know about mid-michigan but here in oak-hio it would never fly. I have mostly modern furniture and I had to buy most of my stuff in a bigger city because everyone at the local furniture stores said no one in this area will buy anything but oak. Whatever, they lost my business because I would have bought just about anything besides oak. If you do decide to open one I would love directions on how to get there. I will be your first customer!

I live in Austin, TX. At the bottom end, we have Ikea, Crate and Barrel, Euroway, etc… At the top we have specialty shops downtown where a couch can run as much as a BMW.

Is there a middle ground or is quality craftsmanship + modern furniture simply out of reach?

i think its better u shop online as u vll get large range of varieties at affordable prices,nw there are many offers running online,i got a 8seater garden furniture frm this store below..

walmart has been known for selling some pretty decent furniture at a really reasonable price ive bought some from there for my 17 year old and it has stayed together pretty good and for good prices also…..

I don’t think you will have to pay duties. As long as you owned the piece of furniture for a while and don’t plan to sell it and it’s part of items for your household I think it’s OK.
For new items which you import while traveling it’s OK as long as it’s not more value than 300 Euro.

millions of people are homeless, without enough things in house.. can you be helpful to buy less things and save something for them. ?? do you want to contribute something ??

I was one of those people, and I am starting to get my life together.
I still do volunteer work to help the homeless through my church and Teen Challenge. I regularly invite people to my house for a meal, not fancy food, and I make up hampers to give to the less fortunate at Christmas. Also, I give Christmas trees of different sizes with decorations to people and families that don’t have one.

Modern furniture, I have not, comfortable I am.
A place I volunteer at allows me to use their computer which allows me to reach even more people.
