I just bought three pieces that look very similar to those listed below. I have found some fabric that I like and I want to purchase and take to my upholsterer, but I don’t know how much I need.
Items are as follows:
1. Settee: http://www.wisteria.com/Linen-European-Furniture-Natural-Linen-Settee/productinfo/W2506/
My actual settee measurements are 50"w x 21"d x 39"h. There is also fabric across the back of the settee.
2. I have two armchairs that look like these:

I don’t have the exact measurments with me for the chairs, but I am just doing the seat and the oval front. I already have different fabric for the oval back.
3. I bought a bench that looks like this:

My measurements are 44"w x 15"d x 21"h
Can you please tell me how much fabric I would need for each of these pieces in order to reupholster?
Thanks so much!
A lot of the yardage will depend on what kind of fabric you bought, it’s width and whether it has a distinct nap or directional pattern or a design that has to be matched. Also, there are bindings that will have to be cut, probably on the bias.
Why don’t you provide this information to your upholsterer instead of fishing on here? He or she is most qualitied to do this and could tell you almost immediately from the photos and dimensions what will be needed. They won’t charge you for an estimate, for goodness sake! In fact, most upholsterers will not guarantee that they can complete a job unless they are the ones who tell you how much fabric to provide
No offense, but I am often puzzled why people ask questions on here when they should properly be asking the people who they are going to be hiring to do the work.
I’m an electrician and I certainly would not want to show up to do someones job and have them tell me "some guy on Yahoo Answers told me this is how much wire I should buy for you to do the job." Do you understand what I mean?
